Cons: f/4-5.6 means it is NOT for indoor use. However, in emergency I have taken pro-level basketball pictures, very sharp!
Pros: Small and short enough to enter in any size bag! So this lens is always with me. Great IS an fast AF. Built like a tank!
Summary: Great lens if you value size and appreciate the 300 range....

Cons: White (I don't like it). No extender compatibility.
Pros: Outstanding build quality, precisely, high speed AF. Best IS I'd ever seen. Noiseless. Optical performance better than with my 70-200L 2.8. Compact and not too heavy. Superb bokeh.
Summary: Nothing for fast interior shots, but hopefully you know it before purchase (f4/5.6) My very best buy for outdoor and travel.

Pros: very sharp, excellent color and contrast! light and compact, easy to carry all day! love the 70-300 range! much better then any other 70-300 on the market! f/5.6 doesnt bother me cuz i always shoot f/5.6-f/8 anyway for max sharpness.excellent for close up shots as well as long distance!
Summary: if you want a killer all around lens this is it!

Price: $1400

Cons: -f4-5.6 ?? why canon ? -anything other than bright sunlight, you have to use iso 1600 and above. -looks really awkward when fully extended. -overpriced for what it offers, and better deals on similar canon lenses
Pros: -good image quality at all focal lengths. -sharp wide open (sweet spot f6.3) -no vignetting -minimal to no color fringing -good against bright light and no flaring -corner to corner performance is good. -light and small ( per se)
Summary: only buy this lens if portability is important to you. It is the smallest and lightest in canons 70-200/300mm L telephoto lens. If you dont mind the length, just buy the 70-200mm F4 L or an older 70-200mm F2.8 L for a bit less.
