Pentax smc DA* 55 mm f/1.4 SDM

5. Chromatic aberration

The degree of correction of chromatic aberration definitely benefits the new Pentax. With DA* the defect is harmless with maximum aperture range and increases when stopping down. Its maximum level of 0.13% is reached for the range of aperture between f/5.6 and f/22.

It’s worth to add that the way the new Pentax performs puts it forward as a model compared to Zeiss and Sigma which are worse particularly in maximum aperture range.
