Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX AF 11-16 mm f/2.8

25 May 2009
Arkadiusz Olech

10. Autofocus

Tokina has not yet come up with an ultrasonic motor, hence its focusing mechanism is a typical, buzzing ‘drill’ of mediocre speed and accuracy. Despite the vast depth of focus , Tokina managed to miss just badly enough to make the shot utterly useless. In studio, the lens missed in 12% of all attempts. Not good at all for such a wide angle. Luckily, the lens showed no tendency of focusing behind or in front of the subject.
