In May 2008 Olympus announced the launch of a 9-18 mm focal length lens with the angle of view in the range from 100 to 62 degrees. This piece of news made the 4/3rds users very happy as, up to that point, they have had only a limited choice between an expensive 7-14 mm lens and the sought-after 11-22 mm when it comes to wide angle lenses.
