A lens with focal length 35mm is a one of the most useful photographic tool. Using the 35mm with smaller sensors like APS-C, you will get 44 degree angle of view which is equal to analog standard- 50mm. So when some day you will decide to buy a full-frame camera, our 35mm lens will still be as much multi-purpose as previously on APS-C. A focal length 35mm with 63 degree angle of view, can be used actually everywhere and every time. It is so irreplaceable that personally, if I had to choose only the one lens for my DSLR, it would be exactly the 35mm lens.

We have already tested 35/f2 lenses from Canon, Nikon and Pentax. Except that, we managed to test 35mm lenses with the maximum aperture 1.4 from Canon and Sony. In addition we analyzed very thoroughly a Sigma 30/f1.4 designed for small sensors. As you can see there are plenty of competitors, similar level, which can be compared together. Interesting is the fact that in this group above, the Zeiss is not the most expensive lens. Conclusion? It might be just profitable to take the Zeiss into consideration..?
