6. Distortion
The distortion correction is not the strongest point of the tested Tamron but generally it is no mean feat for zoom lenses with so high zoom ratio so small wonder the Tamron copes badly here. At the shortest focal length it gives us already many reasons to complain – it has the highest result from all the lenses with focal lengths range starting with 18 mm and ending at 200 mm or more, tested by us so far. The result of –5.74% does the Tamron no credit at all.
As you see in the chart below, fortunately the Tamron fares a bit better at longer focal lengths but still it lags behind the Sigma, which is an example to be followed in this category.
