6. Distortion

Unfortunately, the best focal length, as far as the picture sharpness in concerned, at 18 mm suffers badly from barrel distortion. The distortion level in this case is -4.6%.

Fortunately, we observed that at the 30 mm focal length the distortion drops to an almost invisible value of -0.5%. At 55 mm focal length the distortion becomes very slight with an almost invisible pincushion distortion of 0.4%.
