Autofocus is the weak point of the tested Tamron. It buzzes, it is slow and not very accurate. Perhaps the speed itself is not the worst problem here but the focusing itself is delayed by an interesting property. The lens finds the area near the right setting quite fast but after a while it starts back-and-forth fine-tuning and finally it chooses a random value somewhere in the vicinity. As a result we deal with horribly low accuracy – in studio conditions the Tamron missed in as much as 22% of shots.

Fortunately the lens didn’t show any front or back-focus tendencies.
