6. Distortion

When it comes to the distortion, the Samsung NX 20–50 mm f/3.5–5.6 fares badly. At the widest angle we see very distinct barrel with the value of –5.57%. Such a result is even worse than that of the Sony NEX system kit or the Olympus kit, although these instruments offer wider angles of view. On the other hand, though, the distortion problem is practically non-existent at longer focal lengths. The differences in distortion level between the tested lens and the Olympus kit, so similar when it comes to the design, are worth noticing. As at the widest angle they feature the same irritating barrel the Samsung performs much better at other focal lengths.
