Canon EF 100-300 mm f/4.5-5.6 USM

10. Autofocus

The Canon 100-300 mm is equipped with a USM motor, therefore the focusing is fast and quiet. The accuracy of the lens is great too; it missed only in 7.5% of the cases. The result is very good, although, with a USM motor, the value could be as low as 5% and below. As far as the sharpness depth position is concerned the Canon had a minor tendency for front focusing. Because of the weak aperture this had no influence on the picture resolution.
