Price: $780

Cons: It's not a IS f2.8 mark II? None really
Pros: Excellent image quality, especially for the price. Tough. Sharp@f4. Fast accurate focusing. Lighter than it's big brothers
Summary: Excellent lens, first one to demonstrate to me the value of good glass. if you don't need IS or F2.8, or have the funds for the higher spec 70-200's these are a great piece of kit.

Cons: Really, none, considering price and value. Only thing some dislike is the f/4 aperture but it's not like they sprung it on you - get the 2.8 if you need to shoot indoor sports in the dark...
Pros: IQ, build quality, sharpness, color rendition, usability, weight, value, etc.
Summary: Where else can you get so many good things for a decent price? This lens and the 17-40 f/4L are the 'hidden gems' of the Canon L line - extremely decent glass at affordable prices. If you don't need IS you can get this lens used for $400-$500 and never look back.

Cons: Build quality, IQ, AF speed and accuracy, lightweight for an 70-200 L lens, colors...
Pros: nothing really at this price. Might be the white color which draw too much attention for my taste. If You want IS or 2,8 You have to pay a lot more....
Summary: Fantastic lens at this price.

Price: 600
User profile: Amateur
Cons: I wish it is black
Pros: Compare to my other lens, even primes, this is one of the very best, other than its bigger brother f2.8 IS.
Summary: I am tired of picking which lens to carry with me from my 12 lens. I decided to sell most of them, but keep the 70-200 F4, 15-85, 50f1.8 and 85f1.8. I wish the price of 200mm f2.8 comes down, so I can get it cheaper and use it for candid street shoots, due to its black color.

Price: 550
User profile: Semipro
Cons: (No cons at all for the specification as it does not come with wide- 'f' or IS)
Pros: * Super sharp images right from 70 all the way through 200 in f4 * Very nice rounded bokeh * Solid built * Reasonable pricing
Summary: Best suitable for * daylight outdoor sports/wedding * bird / animals * Landscape (No I'm not kidding) (Note: If you can afford, I'd highly recommend the IS version which is probably the best)
