The autofocus of the Pentax 1.9/43 is a typical, audibly buzzing ‘screwdriver’. Fortunately its cooperation with the K-5 is quick because running through the whole distance scale takes about 0.6- 0.7 of a second.

The lens didn’t have any problems with accuracy either. In studio conditions, on a Pentax K-5, it missed in 5% of cases. We also didn’t notice any front or back focus tendencies.
