8. Vignetting

The tested lens doesn’t have any serious problem with vignetting and the thumbnails below show it very well.

At the maximum relative aperture the brightness loss in the frame corners amounts to 24% (-0.80 EV) and it is the only place where we can notice it at all. On stopping down to f/2.8 we can make the problem disappear completely because then this aberration reaches 8% (-0.23 EV).

You must remember, though, that the Pentax 1.9/43 is a full frame lens and its real vignetting test should have been conducted on full frame. Unfortunately we didn’t have an opportunity to perform such a test.
