Lens review

Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX Micro 40 mm f/2.8G

9. Ghosting and flares

The front element of the lens is small and quite deeply hidden inside the barrel at normal focusing distances. Taking all this into account we didn’t expect any problems concerning the work against bright light. Our surprise was immense when we saw such artifacts as those presented in the photos below. I am not sure what the reason is: either the producers saved on coatings or on the inner construction. Anyway the results are not optimistic.
