10. Autofocus

The Panasonic 14–42 mm PZ was tested on an Olympus body so when it comes to the autofocus you must admit the configuration was far from perfect. Despite that fact the focusing mechanism was silent and very quick. The focus, notwithstanding the focal length, was set in less than half or a second. That time increased when we took photos in worse lighting conditions.

When it comes to the accuracy of the autofocus we don’t have any reservations here as well. It was exemplary both on the Olympus E-PL1 and the Panasonic GX-1, without any noticeable misses.

The lens also didn’t have any front or back focus problems.
