9. Ghosting and flares
The performance of the lens against bright light is difficult to assess in a positive way.
You can catch flares at practically every combination of focal length and aperture. What’s more at all focal lengths you can find such a position of the Sun, right on the edge of the frame, which results in a huge flare burning through a significant part of the image. It is nothing to be proud of and it might signify that the anti-reflection coatings’ performance is poor or, more probably, the casing limits the dampening of flares because of small dimensions of the lens in transport position.
