1. Introduction

When the Samsung company launched its mirrorless NX system, they quickly saw to offering a quite interesting selection of lenses as well. Apart from more or less typical ‘kit’ devices their line-up also consisted of several ‘pancakes’ and one fully-fledged macro lens – the Samsung NX 60 mm f/2.8 Macro ED OIS SSA.

Already its long name might suggest the producer tried to guarantee this instrument has practically everything the best. Apart from a fully-fledged macro we get here low dispersion ED elements, optical image stabilization and an ultrasonic autofocus mechanism. If they additionally boasted of some especially efficient anti-reflection coatings we would have a full set here.

Is this lens really as good as its name or promotional materials suggest? Courtesy of the Samsung company we were able to check it and answer that question.
