Chromatic aberration

The Panasonic G X VARIO 35–100 mm f/2.8 P.O.I.S. doesn’t have even the smallest problems with the longitudinal chromatic aberration. It can be noticed very well in the photos below. As many as three low dispersion elements, used in the optical construction of this lens, work as they should.

We can say similar things about the lateral chromatic aberration. At all focal lengths its level is almost the same, increasing slightly on stopping down. The fact that this aberration keeps having negligible and low values throughout the whole range is an excellent piece of information. Here the lens can be only praised.

Spherical aberration

The spherical aberration is corrected well because you can’t notice it either as a „focus shift” effect or as different images of defocused light points – in their cases the images in front of and behind the focus are similar, with even spread of light.
