6. Distortion

The Tamron 150–600 mm belongs to an exclusive group of zoom lenses whose distortion doesn’t depend on the focal length value. On the small APS-C/DX sensor it amounts to about 0.5% ( to be precise: at 150, 300, 450 and 600 mm it is respectively 0.52%, 0.54%, 0.53% and 0.47% so more or less the same value within the margin of error) being practically imperceptible.

On full frame the distortion is higher but still there are no reasons to complain – its level never exceeds a not especially bothersome value of 1.5%. At 150, 300, 450 and 600 mm the distortion amounted to respectively 1.37%, 1.29%, 1.34% and 1.32%.
