The set consisting of the X-E1 camera plus the tested Fujinon 16–55 mm is able to focus noiselessly and very quickly. The time needed to run throughout the whole distance scale, find the focus and confirm it was about 0.3 of a second. It seemed it was even faster to go from the minimum focusing distance to infinity than the other way round. For such a performance the Fujinon can only be praised here.

The accuracy of the mechanism can be described in similar terms. In studio conditions the lens missed in just less than 1% of cases which is an excellent result. We didn’t notice any distinct front or back focus tendencies either.
