The autofocus of the tested lens is noiseless but its speed, when the lens is attached to the X-E1, could be only called average. Running through the whole distance range and finding the focus takes about 0.7-0.8 of a second. Still we trust the new software will accelerate the mechanism noticeably – after all in other Fujinon lenses that time could be even 2-3 times shorter.

Still we don’t have any reservations concerning the accuracy mechanism. In studio conditions the number of misses ranged from 1 to 2%. The lens didn’t have any front or back focus problems either.
