7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh

The tested lens should be praised also when it comes to the coma correction. It would be difficult to notice it in the corner of full frame even at the maximum relative aperture. In the case of a wide angle device as fast as f/1.4 it is a huge achievement. Such good results in this class of equipment so far have been shown only by the Sigma A 1.4/35.

The astigmatism might be a bit more bothersome than the coma. Even if we are far from describing that aberration level as high or even medium, with the result of 7.6%, still it is the first category where the Canon lost its duel with the Sigma.

When it comes to the appearance of out-of-focus images we have no reservations whatsoever. The light spread in the circles is even, without any rims or local extremes.
