1. Introduction

For a very long time the only macro lens of the Micro 4/3 system, offered by Olympus was the M.Zuiko Digital 60 mm f/2.8 ED Macro launched in February 2012. Fortunately, due to full compatibility, the users of that system could also attach two Panasonic lenses to their cameras: the more expensive Panasonic Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45 mm f/2.8 ASPH. M.O.I.S. and the cheaper Panasonic G Macro 30 mm f/2.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S.

In September 2016 during the Photokina fairs Olympus enlarged their line-up by presenting the M.Zuiko Digital ED 30 mm f/3.5 Macro. In the following chapters we show how it performs in practice – enjoy your lecture!

We would like to thank the Polish Olympus subsidiary for borrowing us one specimen of the lens for testing purposes.
