6. Distortion

As far as the geometric distortions are concerned, the Canon’s results are good. The barrel distortion at the widest angle of view values –2.7%, but this result is not very bad.

At the longest focal lengths the distortion turns into a pincushion one and at 50mm it values 0.6% and at 85mm it is 0.9%. These results are not bad and are not a major obstacle for everyday photography.
