Pros: Fast to focus. Great build quality. A very versatile lens, from situational portraits to events, landscapes and even reasonable at wide-field astrophotography. Focal length is quite good for stitched panoramas (i.e. not too wide for stitching).
Summary: While perfectly adequate on a 1.3x crop (1DMkIV), it really shines on a full frame body (1DX). Just wide enough to make the scene interesting, but not too wide that serious distortions start to happen.

Summary: Colour, contrast and bokeh combine to give beautiful results. It's a versatile focal length that is good for portraits and groups. AF is fast and accurate and, despite the plastic body, the built is excellent. This and my 50L are my two most used lenses.

Pros: Everything. Amazing sharpness from f/2 (also good wide open), amazing colors, excellent build quality. f/1.4.

Cons: being picky I would say that bokeh is too "busy" and possibly distracting (when used for portrait or similar work). also - slight loss in contrast in backlit shots (with large slightsources) - yet, only under certain conditions ( 50/1.2 performed better here)
Pros: extreme sharpness (all apertures), build quality, fast and accurate af (especially when compared to 50/1.2)
Summary: great lens, a must-have for anyone working with available light.

Pros: Fast focusing, built to last. Super sharp images.
Summary: This has quickly become my favorite lens. The two lenses I keep in my bag at all times is this one and my 24-105. Between the two, I like this one a bit more because of the 1.4 aperture availability. From portraits to landscapes, this lens can handle it all.
