Cons: Its heavy.
Pros: Very nice bokeh. Vibrant colors. Stopped down it is sharp like... there is no word for.
Summary: This is a very nice lens. I like the saturation and the contrast. I found something special with this lens: It has a certain 3D-look I have never seen before. Look at the pictures taken with this lens. They show its quality much more than the review.

Pros: Awesome build quality. Incredibly sharp and contrasty. Best bokeh out there. Long throw, smooth manual focus.
Summary: This is an awesome lens and one you have to appreciate through use rather than reading purely objective tests. It is phenomenally sharp at all apertures, including f1.4 if you nail focus. The very graceful fall-off from sharp to blurred areas and lovely smooth bokeh really makes this lens unique in the class. It does not have the very flat, buttery bokeh of many modern lenses but the background drifts away into smoothly defined shapes. There is some spherical aberration wide open that can lead to a somewhat dreamy appearance and can be good or bad depending on the image, but this goes on stopping down. it is quite easy to focus and the mechanical quality is a joy. The image rendition is like all ZF lenses and has high contrast and lovely colour. Its expensive, but you get what you pay for and it will easily outlast the main manufacturer's offerings. The lens tested very well here but for some reason the reviewers were still a bit negative about it...judging by the some what mediocre performance of many 35mm fast lenses they are quite an optical challenge and this really is one of the very best.
