Pentax HD DA 20-40 mm f/2.8-4.0 ED Limited DC WR

1. Introduction

The Pentax company doesn’t glut the market with their lenses; still if they launch any novelties, these are more often than not very interesting optical devices with quite untypical parameters. The Pentax HD DA 20–40 mm f/2.8–4.0 ED Limited DC WR was an example of such practice. It was launched in November 2013; its narrow focal range, average aperture fastness and being a part of the famous Limited series seem to promise you very good optical properties. Add to that a solid, metal casing which is sealed and you shouldn’t be surprised that owners of Pentax reflex cameras waited with curiosity when the first specimens of that lens hit the shelves.

Courtesy of the Fotozakupy.pl shop we were given an opportunity to test the Pentax and our impressions are presented in the following chapters – enjoy your reading!

You are also invited to get acquainted with our test procedure, described in the article "How do we test lenses?" If you feel it’s still not enough, please go to our FAQ section where you can find some further explanation.
