Tamron AF 18-250 mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II LD Aspherical (IF)

9. Ghosting and flares

The work against bright light is not a strong point of the Tamron 18-250 mm. At shorter focal lengths it fares a bit better and we could praise it for the fact that light artifacts, although noticeable, are not very strong or numerous. In the case of most lenses in this class, different flares or artifacts disappear quickly after using longer focal lengths. However, it is not true for the Tamron. Artifacts are clearly visible throughout the whole range and, in addition, at longer focal lengths we have to deal with the overall contrast decrease.
