Pentax smc FA 77 mm f/1.8 Limited

10. Autofocus

What could be possibly said...Here we deal with a classic little drill, which whirrs during the work. The sound is really loud and the mechanism is far from being quick, taking into account the fact that it runs through the limited scale from 0.7 meter to infinity – it takes the lens 1.5 second to travel the full range no matter from what end.

It is also difficult to praise the accuracy of the focusing mechanism. The Pentax 1.8/77 and a K20D team missed in almost 20% of shots; for studio conditions it is a weak result.

Undoubtedly the autofocus is one of the biggest disadvantages of this lens.
