The autofocus works silently. We hear just a very delicate whirr, not bothersome at any time. The speed is satisfactory too- running through the scale, no matter from which end, takes less than one second. The complete focusing time is a bit longer though because of the unique work conditions of the mechanism – it is based on the contrast detection method, which demands us to make a “circle” near the right focus location. It is not the lens’s fault but the specificity of a mirror-less system.

Fortunately the accuracy is difficult to flaw. The set of the NX10 camera and the tested pancake lens in the studio conditions missed on average 1-2 times for every 100 expositions. This result is very good. Additional praise is deserved for the lack of front or back focus tendencies, which can be clearly seen in the photo below.
