HSM used in Sigma 18-50 works quietly and quite fast. It takes it noticeably less than one second to go through the scale, no matter the direction – infinity to minimum focusing distance or vice versa.

Also, Sigma didn’t show any serious problems in co-operation with Nikon D200. The number of mistakes of the focusing mechanism reached only 4%, which is a really good result. There were no tendencies of front- or back-focusing.
