The STM motor, the tested lens is equipped with, performs splendidly. The focusing is completely noiseless and very quick – so quick in fact that it was difficult to assess. Running through the whole scale and the focus confirmation took not longer than 0.2 of a second. It is a sensational result.

The huge depth of field you get with such parameters makes it possible to give up completely the autofocus mechanism in many situation. However if you still decide to use it, that depth of field helps it achieve truly outstanding results; in studio conditions the tested lens didn’t miss one single time. There was also no trace of any front or back focus tendencies.
