Sigma S 150-600 mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM

6. Distortion

The Tamron’s SP 150–600 mm f/5–6.3 Di VC USD distortion didn’t depend on the focal length almost at all. On the APS-C sensor you dealt with a level of about +0.5%; on full frame these values were near +1.3%. The Sigma performs similarly, with distortion levels weakly correlated with the focal length values, but its results are better than the results of the Tamron. On the APS-C sensor at 150, 300, 450 and 600 mm the distortion results are respectively: +0.31%, +0.36%, +0.29% and +0.34%. On the full frame sensor the distortion results for respective focal lengths are: +0.54%. +0.76%, +0.71% i +0.75%.

As you see, the distortion level never exceeds 1.0% and it can be considered negligible – it won’t bother you in real life photos.
