Sigma C 16 mm f/1.4 DC DN

9. Ghosting and flares

The Sigma 1.4/16 didn’t have it easy in this category. It consists of as many as 13 groups of elements and it means there are 26 air-to-glass surfaces where light can be reflected. What’s more, the front element is huge and practically not sheltered by anything. Taking all these facts into account the lens performed pretty well. You can notice light artefacts but they are rarely intensive and their number is not that high. If I had to point out the biggest slip-up it would be the fact that you can catch artefacts in your photos even after moving the sun noticeably outside the frame.
