Astigmatism of the Nikkor 200-500 mm, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 3.5% and it is a very good result.

When it comes to blurry areas we don’t have any reservations either. For a zoom lens, the circles of light look nice enough, without any distinct local extreme points. Even the rim on the edge is not especially accentuated and the mechanical vignetting seems to be curbed properly as well.
