6. Distortion

You deal here with a lens which angle of view on the APS-C sensor amounts to 42 degrees, an equivalent of a standard, full frame 50 mm device. Older constructions of this type could have distortion on a level of even −2%. In the case of newer instruments the distortion is usually corrected very well. Which group the Samyang belongs to? Results amounting to −0.14% for JPEG and −0.21% for RAW files mean the deformations are close to zero. The distortion correction is a strong point of the tested lens.
