10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the tesed lens, when joined with the A7R II camera, is noiseless but not very fast. Running through the whole distance range and confirming the focus takes about 1 second near 75 mm and it decreases to about 0.5 of a second for focal lengths ranging from 28 to 35 mm.

We didn't have any reasons to complain when it comes to the accuracy of the mechanism. The number of misses didn't exceed 2% and they all happened only at the maximum focal length.

When it comes to front or back focus tendencies we noticed a very slight font-focus effect at the 75 mm focal length but it was bothersome only when you took photos from close distances. At typical distances it stopped being a problem - the target was included in the depth of field anyway.
