When it comes to the performance against bright light the tested lens didn't have it easy. After all it does feature 14 groups of elements which means as many as 28 air-to-glass surfaces so a lot of possibilities of light reflections. Even employing of the best coatings wouldn't ensure you a transmission level higher than 90-92% and it means in the best-case scenario you have to lose at least almost 10% of light.
The standards are raised pretty high and they proved to be a serious obstacle for the Tamron, especially with the aperture significantly stopped down. In many photos you can catch intensive reflections and, additionally, they cover a lot of space. What's more, ghosting and flares appear even when you move the sun far outside the frame.
Overall our impressions aren't especially positive in this category so the Tamron cannot be assessed well.
