Chromatic aberration

Longitudinal chromatic aberration makes itself felt but it is not a huge problem. What's more, when compared to the performance of the more expensive brother, the tested lens seems to fare slightly better.

Here the performance is similar to that of the XF 35 mm f/2R WR model – the aberration increases slightly on stopping down. Still the results are a tad lower, reaching 0.07% at the maximum. It means that you deal with a low level of CA all the time.

Spherical aberration

In first photos of this chapter you can notice a slight 'focus shift' effect toward greater distances. Fortunately, when you examine the appearance of circles of light, spherical aberration is not distinct as both of them look similar not giving you any reason to worry.
