10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the Nikkor 24-70 mm f/4 S combined with the Nikon Z7 camera is completely noiseless. You don't hear even a whirr of shifting elements. The speed is also quite decent – time you need for running through the whole distance range and confirming the focus depends on the focal length. For 24-28 mm it amounts to 0.3-0.4 of a second so it's pretty fast. At 50-70 mm focal lengths it increases to 0.7-0.9 of a second.

We didn't have any reservations concerning accuracy of the autofocus mechanism either – most of photographs taken both in the studio and outside were sharp where they supposed to be, in full accordance with expectations of the photographer.

Photos below show clearly that the tested lens didn't have any front or back focus problems.
