Cons: Considering the price, not much. Heavy so watch your shutter speed for handheld use since there is no OS. Finish is peeling off after years of heavy use.
Pros: Sharp (don't let others convince you otherwise), well damped focus and zoom rings, tripod collar
Summary: This lens gets a lot of bad rep undeservedly. It is not soft!!! You just can't shoot it handheld under 1/1000 or even faster, at least me. On tripod it's tack sharp at all apertures and focal lenghts. Glad I bought it. It was second hand and only 350$. In great mechanical and optical shape.

Cons: Not at £600.
Pros: Sharp when stopped down a touch. Well build and very fast auto focus on my Pentax K20D.
Summary: Great for the money.

Cons: - f/2.8 not really sharp. - Old versions of this for Minolta mount didn't have HSM. - The SIGMA colors may be a turnoff.
Pros: - Sharp from f/4 onward. - Solid build. - Good IQ overall.
Summary: A really decent telezoom. Up-to-date versions of this are probably better. Unfortunately no versions have stabilization, which may be a turnoff for Canon/Nikon users.
