Cons: Manual focus feel could be better. Not silent autofocus

Pros: Small, light, excellent optical performance, nice colours and very useful focal length. Good bokeh on FF too.

Summary: Now I have spent time with this lens on the K-1, my opinion of the FA35 and has only improved further! Its a great match with the K-1, light, small, sharp, fully usable wide open, and FF bokeh sees a surprising improvement over APS-C (possibly due to closer focusing distance for same field of view). Also stopped down to f16 I\'m seeing nice star flares (like DA15). Its my most used lens on the K-1.

Cons: autofocus can be inconsistent and slow, sometimes lens delivers ugly bokeh

Pros: good sharpnes at f/2.8, excelent sharpnes at f/5.6, compact, great contrast

Summary: very good lens for everyday use

Cons: Very pricey now, hard to find.

Pros: Sharp from wide open, great contrast, compact and light.

Summary: Great normal for the dSLR or wide for film cameras, the lens is sharp right from f2 and exhibits great colour. The petal hood also comes wtih the polarizer window! The bokeh as mentioned can be a little busy at times but all and all a solid staple to any Pentaxian's lineup.

    Cons: chromatic aberation, slow autofocus

Pros: very sharp when stopped down, good resolution, great colours, price

Summary: Great lens for a price, I use it as my standard lens on K20D. It produces very sharp images, resolution is at the highest at f4-f8. Another strong point of this lens is great colour reproduction and smc coating. Bokeh is not bad but not the best. The main weakness is autofocus: bit too slow and hunting quite often.

Cons: Can't think of any. Previous reviewer mentions build quality, but I have not used enough lenses to be able to tell a difference

Pros: Great image quality, very sharp

Summary: This lens produces excellent quality images. If you like sharp rendering lenses, this is one for you. Mine produces fairly noticeably sharper images than my FA 50mm f/1.4, but I like the bokeh of the 50mm better.

Cons: Build quality is very decent but could still be better. I hate plastic aperture rings...

Pros: Very good image quality wide open, near-perfect from f2. Compact.

Summary: If this lens would have the build quality of the FA31/1.8 Ltd it would be the perfect normal lens on the K20D.
