6. Distortion

Tilt-shift lenses are used very often in urban and architecture photography. Such an off-axis aberration as distortion is not a very desirable feature, especially if its level is high or it is complex (e.g. moustache distortion). The classic Samyang 1.4/24 corrected it worse than the competitors so we were very curious how the T-S lens would fare. As you see consulting the chart below, the lens performed better than its brother and the Canon. Still it was worse than the Nikkor on full frame.

Fortunately the distortion of the tested Samyang doesn’t show any traces of moustache deformations so it should be easily corrected.
