Cons: Poor IQ and colour fringing. Very bad wide open. This lens convinced me not to buy any more wide angle zooms. Prime lenses usually perform a better. It isn't better than the 10-22 Canon for APS-C. The Sigma 8-16 is the only really bright spot in super wide zooms but its not really for FF. So stick with primes.

Pros: Bright, great build. Thats it! Oh and people seem prepared to pay a lot for it. I sold mine for almost what I paid new. The Mk II may be better but I doubt it.

Summary: An expensive under performing lens that Has poor IQ and colour fringing.

Cons: A bit expensive (but). A bit heavy. 82mm filters.

Pros: Build Quality, Sharp, Constrast. Is worth the money.

Summary: I bought this lens to remplace my 10-22. I own a 7D. I know that I'm loosing on the UWA side, but I wanted to have a lens I would use in the future. I was just amazed by the quality of it. Pictures were just very contrasted, sharp, luminous and the colours are great. I might have gotten a really great one. Even though I had to play with the micro adjustment. I would never change it. I have it for only 2 weeks, and I love it.

Cons: Optical quality - Poor performance in edge resolution, serious vignetting occurred when wide open

Pros: Build quality - heavy and solid

Summary: For this money, we must have a better choice elsewhere
