Overall
Owner since: 2 years
Price: $275 US
User profile: Semipro
Cons: Rotating front element. Focus by wire system. Does not use Full Time Manual Focus like my other L lenses do. No replacement parts for a lens that was introduced in March 1989.
Pros: OMG ... the build quality is superb, much better than the 24-105 L zoom lens. The optical quality is amazing, it's the sharpest L lens I own and I own and use the 24-105/4 L, 70-200/4 L and 100-400/4.5-5.6 L with my original 5D amd 6D.
Summary: The best and possibly the sharpest L zoom lens on eBay or used camera/lens dealers for less than $275.00 US dollars. Love this lens and it's only 27 years old according the Canon Museum. If my lens ever goes bad I'll probably buy another one it's that good!
