Tokina Fírin 20 mm f/2 FE MF

9. Ghosting and flares

Around the maximum relative aperture the effects of work against bright light look good. You can notice some artifacts but not many of them; their intensity is low and they don’t occupy a wide area inside the frame.

The situation gets worse on stopping down and the worst case is when the sun is positioned far away from the frame. In such a moment some photos might feature a flare which takes up a lot of space. It is a characteristic feature of wide angle Tokina lenses, anyway we’ve witnessed that performance while testing several models of that producer.
