1. Introduction

Viltrox is showing no signs of slowing down its offensive lens launches. From January to the end of September 2026, it introduced five completely new optical designs, announced three more upcoming models, and simultaneously released several previously launched lenses with the L-mount.

Among all these new releases was the second pancake lens. The first, with specifications of 4.5/28, was introduced in September 2024. In mid-2026, the lineup was expanded with a much more interesting model, the Viltrox AF 26 mm f/2.8 EVO, which offers a reasonable maximum aperture of f/2.8 despite its compact size and low weight.

We therefore contacted Viltrox's Polish distributor, Fototechnika, to request a review sample of this model. Our request was fulfilled very promptly, allowing us to invite you to read the following sections and learn our opinion of this lens.
