User profile: Amateur
Cons: Optically underdesigned. Heavy digital correction, especially at 18 mm, result in only acceptable image quality. OSS cannot be switched off.
Pros: Light, versatile, small, convenient
Summary: This is a bread-and-butter zoom. It delivers IQ which is just ok, but shows some weakness at its short end where the edge of the frame is spoiled with limited resolution, chromatic abberation and some vignetting. Due to the tight optical circle, electronic correction is a must. At 100mm and above the usual loss of contrast limits sharpness perception. Between 25 and 100 images are ok. This lens does not challenge my camera, the A6700. It\'s light, it\'s versatile, it\'s convenient, but do expect IQ compromises.
