Cons: focus too slow. sometimes on my old copy of the lens the focus group would get stuck. had to use glossy scotch tape on the outside of the focusing barrel to reduce friction
Pros: looks okay optically. requires a lot of sharpening but the picture can be nice, it\'s not detail-less soup of blur at all.
Summary: get it and see if 100-400 is the right focal range for you. if you are okay with F9-F11, the pictures will be absolutely fine.
