Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6G VR

As there are more and more reflex cameras with sensor stabilization and a strong marketing overtone of the “stabilization” term as well, two biggest photographic market tycoons - the Canon and Nikon companies - started to notice the seriousness of the problem. Even the cheapest rival body-plus-lens sets, equipped by their producers with the sensor stabilization, can give a nice, stabilized image. In the case of Canon and Nikon system if you want to have a stabilization must buy expensive lenses equipped with it.

Both companies’ reaction was alike and it was even similarly timed - they have launched sets of cheap “kit” lenses, so-called “dual kits”, equipped with stabilization. These were: a 18-55 VR and a 55-200 VR models in the case of Nikon and a 18-55 IS and a 55-250 IS in the case of Canon. As we’ve already tested longer “kits” it’s time to deal with the shorter ones.
